Who and What is SHINE studios?

So, who and what is SHINE studios anyway?

Vision Statement:
SHINE’s vision is to empower people by Sharing Hope, Inspiration, and New Experiences.

Mission Statement:
Love is the foundation of SHINE.  Using a combination of coaching, counseling, empowerment, and a dash of spiritual guidance, I provide a safe place where people can reconnect with their purpose, renew their passion for life, and create harmony between their mind, body, and Soul.

SHINE studios was founded in 2014, by me, Tanya Tiger. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience working with a wide range of clientele, from diverse backgrounds, within a variety of settings (schools, addiction clinics, prisons, virtual educational institutions, etc.) to address a multitude of life issues. In addition to being a Social Worker, I am also an Interfaith Minister, Freelance Writer, Artist, wife and mother.

While SHINE studios is currently a “virtual” space, I plan to open a brick-and-mortar home base in the not-too-distant future.  Services are currently provided through email, by phone, and Skype sessions.  If you are local face-to-face sessions may be possible.

SHINE is built on a foundation of Love… Love of Self, of Source, and of the World we live in (including all of its inhabitants… human, plant, animal, insects, etc.)  Integrity, respect, and true dedication to helping individuals in need of guidance, support, and encouragement are the corner stones of my organization and I strive to provide the highest level of care to all of my clients.

What I offer:

  • Over 10 years of experience as a Social Worker and Counselor working with people from varying backgrounds who have experienced some of life’s greatest challenges:
    • Addiction
    • Abuse
    • Grief & Loss
    • Unemployment
    • Educational struggles
    • Bullying
    • Emotional Trauma
    • Mental Health
    • Relationship Issues
    • Legal problems
  • An authentic desire to help you make your life the life of your dreams:
I became a Social Worker, Personal Coach, and Spiritual Counselor for the sole purpose of helping people embrace their truth. I have a genuine interest in seeing people succeed and a deep desire to empower my clients to become their best selves.
My goal is not to change you into someone you’re not. My goal is to help you discover (or rediscover) the awesome person you already are, figure out what you want your life to look like, and then help you create a plan of action to make it happen.
  • A holistic approach to meeting your needs:
You are more than your job, your title, your family, your past, your socio-economic status, your name, etc. When I work with a client I see the whole person. Together, you and I will look at the full picture, not just the issue that caused you to seek help. During my years of practice I have often, upon closer examination, found that the problem or concern is just a symptom of some bigger underlying issue. As a team we’ll uncover the areas in your life that need some attention and TLC (tender-loving-care).
  • A safe place to express yourself, and to just be you:
SHINE studios is a safe haven. It was created as a place for people to let down their guard, open up, be their authentic selves, and let go of the “masks” they wear in their daily lives. I want you to come to SHINE studios and just be you. If you’re not sure who that is yet that’s ok, we’ll start there. There is no way to get to the real issues if you don’t get to the real you first.

A Little History

The idea for SHINE studios was born after the unexpected death of my 16-month-old daughter, Kristin, in August of 2014. I had spent years working as a counselor to help people face their own problems and trauma, and now I faced my own. After meeting and/or speaking with numerous other parents who had lost their children, I knew that I was meant to take this personal tragedy and use it to create something good. Losing my daughter at such a young age reminded me that we are never guaranteed a tomorrow and that life is too short to put our dreams on hold.

Over the years I have met numerous people who were struggling with both major and minor obstacles in their day-to-day lives. Some people struggled with addiction, some with the loss of their job or marriage, and some just needed a nonjudgmental listener to point them in the right direction. Many spoke of dreams they had forgotten, put on hold, or felt they would never achieve because “life got in the way.”

I founded SHINE as way to honor my daughter Kristin’s life, to leave a legacy of Love for my surviving daughter, Katelyn, as well as to provide a sanctuary of hope for anyone in need.  It is my sincerest hope that I can be of service to my clients, to help them truly live the life they have envisioned for themselves. I am part counselor, part spiritual guide, and part cheerleader. I want each client to leave our sessions feeling renewed and excited about what comes next. The road to positive change is rarely easy but it is beyond worth it… you are worth it!

I look forward to hearing from you and hope that I may be of assistance on your journey.
